Modes:

Eight modes:

  • Instant full power on/off at any time

  • Full range brightness control.

  • Slow Flash

  • Medium Flash

  • Fast Flash

  • S.O.S.

  • Signal / Morse Code mode

  • Half power mode

Product Highlights:

  • Eight functions:

    - High power – Full on, brightest output. Great for making solid lines and trails. Awesome for dancing. Drains battery fastest.

    - Brightness control – Full range brightness control allows you to control the light output and the size of the dots.

    - Slow Flash – Not really useful for raving this VERY slow beacon blinks once every five seconds.

- Medium Flash – On for half a second and then off for half a second. Much like the Inovas strobe mode, this mode is good for adding a little bit of another color to your show. Unlike the Inova strobe, however, this mode leaves long occasional trails rather than dots.

- Fast flash (Seizure mode) – This is a true strobe effect. Blinking on and off very rapidly but slow enough to be perceived, this mode makes great dashes and can be used alone or in addition to lights in other modes.

    - S.O.S. - The light blinks out “S.O.S.” in mores code, is off for two second and then blinks it out again. Obviously useful for emergency situations and great for a glove set up with 10 or 20 lights all in this mode at different times.

    - Signal mode – The light becomes s squeeze light. This is useful for passing or conjuring the light, just like any other squeeze light.

    - Half power mode – This mode lets you use all the other modes at reduced brightness to save battery life. All the other modes are the same except they have a dot dash effect at lower brighness.

  • Effective range up to 50'

  • Signal visibility up to 1 mile

  • Temperature operation range from -20 to +40 degrees C

  • Batteries: Red, Orange, and Yellow should only be used with 1x2032. The rest can be used with 2x2016 (that’s how they come) for higher output, or 1x 2032 for longer life.

  • Secure snap-in backing to protect batteries and make light water resistant

  • Quick-clip to keep your light safe and handy

  • Limited lifetime warranty USA

Simple, Intuitive operation:

  • All it takes is a simple squeeze of the button to give you instant full power illumination at any time. To dim the light once it is turned on, simply press and hold the button to dim the light to the desired level.

  • Pressing and holding the button when the light is already off will turn it on at the lowest level and allow you to gradually increase the brightness to give you just the amount of light you need to accomplish your task without disturbing your night vision or disrupting those around you.

  • When needed, the four safety strobe functions (fast, medium, slow, & SOS) can be accessed by continuing to hold the button down. Once the flashlight has dimmed or brightened fully, it will proceed to cycle through the various strobe functions. Simply release the button when you reach the desired beacon mode.

  • An additional "momentary/signaling" mode can be accessed by tapping the button several times in rapid succession. When in the signaling mode, the Freedom Micro LED flashlight will behave like the squeeze-only Photon I, with the light turning on only while the button is pressed and off when it is released. To exit the signaling mode and return the light to normal operation, simply press and hold the button for several seconds until the flashlight turns off.

  • ON/Full Power: (From OFF) Press & Release.

  • OFF: (From any mode except Signal mode) Press & Release.

  • Fade Up: (From OFF) Push & Hold till desire level. It will blink once when it reaches full power.

  • Fade Down: (From ON) Push & Hold till desired level. It will blink once when it reaches lowest power.

  • Blink Modes: Push & Hold for a few seconds (after reaching full power). First will be slow, medium, fast, and SOS. Keep holding to cycle through them and release at desired mode. You can also stop at each one and change to the next one by Pushing & Holding for a few seconds. Also, if you Release as soon as you reach the blinking modes (when it first flashes off) it will start in SOS instead of slow.

  • 50% Mode: From OFF Push until “first light” and then Release quickly. You can now Push & Hold until it reaches the level you would like. It will be using half the power as usual, so “full power” is 50%. This effects all levels and the blinking modes as well. You can check that you are using this mode by setting it to “full power” and waving it back and forth. In 50% mode it will look like a dotted line (strobing). In normal mode it will be solid. It will return to normal mode when it is turned off.

  • Signal Mode: Press and Release quickly about 5 times. Now the light works like a momentary switch. Push & Hold until it turns off to return to normal.

  • Demonstration Mode: This is the way the light comes when new. You can also return to this mode by removing the battery(s) and then Pushing & Holding the switch as you put the battery(s) back in. In this mode none of the blinking modes will work, but all the ON/OFF and brightness controls will work. The light will also turn OFF after about 6 seconds. To exit this mode Push & Hold for about 20 seconds (till it turns OFF) or remove and replace the batteries without Holding the switch.

  • = Activate Auto-off: =
    1. Enter Signal/Morse-code mode by rapidly pressing button 4 or more times in succession. (button should act as momentary-on for any press < 2.5 seconds)
    2. Press and hold button. Continue to hold after light turns off; continue holding until after light emits a short flash, then release button . (No hurry, you can wait many seconds after you see short flash to release button)

  • = Use Auto-off: =
    3. After step 2,, light will be in normal (Continuous) mode with Auto-off activated. Turn ON light with either short button press (straight to full brightness) or press-and-hold for ramp-up from dim to full-brightness. (Can then also ramp-down to a lower brightness, and/or advance to a flash or SOS mode)
    4. Around 2 minutes, 50 seconds after ON, light will blink once, then begin slow dimming ramp. Ramp is about 10 seconds for full brightness, shorter for dimmer
    5. Around 3 minutes, 0 seconds after ON, light will reach 'off' in the dimming ramp.

  • = Deactivate Auto-off: =
    (enter and leave Signal mode)
    6. Enter Signal mode by rapidly pressing button 5 or more times in succession.
    7. Press and hold button until light goes off, then release button. (e.g. do not wait the extra seconds for 'blink')
    ...or...
    (engage 'smash' protection)
    8. From off, press and hold button about 40 seconds, until light cycles through modes a few times, then turns off. Release button.

Tips:

  • Changing the batteries: Use a tool such as a nail file or flat head screw driver to slide under the tab on the back of the light and pop the lid off. Using your nail remove the battery(s) from under the metal contact. Put in new batteries + side up and replace the cover with a firm snap.

  • Changing the bulb: While this is a bit tricky its not that hard with the right tools. Take a sharp hooked instrument (I use a putty tool) to reach into the slit in the collar that holds the bulb in on the front of the light. Pull the collar out until you can grab it (its longer then you would think) and then remove it completely. Now the bulb will be hanging loose and plugged into the circuit board. Remove the bulb. Get your ne bulb and cut the lead to the same length as the original ones (be sure to compensate for the fact that the leads are bent to fit the casing.) Insert the bulb, test the light for correct polarity and put the caller back on. Make sure to really jam the collar back in so you wont lose it and the bulb later!

Ideas: These lights are small and flat and work great in gloves or for free handing. Try double stacking these lights for additional color effects. Its easy to make a ribboning effect by having one light in low power mode or in a signal mode (usually a hot color) on top of a light in full power mode (Any cold color or any color you can clearly see is different). Try out some combinations and see what you like.
